TOUCH- a book review

Can there be more than one love in a person's life?

Are only girls accountable for all the breakups?

Will the person who breaks-up never reminiscence the good times spent with eachother?

Is it easy to bury one's love and start afresh without any hiccups?

To find out one must read TOUCH- 'The One yoU Cannot Have', the fifth book by my favorite author Preeti Shenoy.This is the first book from the author which has been written from the male perspective.

To describe the book in one word- therapautic. It is not only for those who have loved and lost but also for those who have seen people love, for those who are in love and last but not the least for all those who intend to love.

The book revolves around the happenings in the life of Aman, the male protagonist. The book has been divided and written in the form of each character expressing his/her thoughts which makes it easier to understand.

While Aman and Shruti were once inseperable, Shruti is today married to Rishabh and Aman has moved base to Norwich to get over his heart-break.

It has been two years since then and now Aman is planning to return to India to start his life afresh

Anjali, a writer and a columnist for a women's magazine, got introduced to Aman through common friends and has been in touch with him since then. She has developed a liking to Aman. When Aman returns to India, he meets Anjali and he doesn't reciprocate when she makes advances thus leaving her bewildered.

Has Aman got over Shruti?

Has Shruti gotten over her past?

Can Aman and Shruti make peace with the past?

Will Anjali be successful in winning over Aman?

Will there be a happy ending in Aman's, Shruti's and Anjali's lives?

It is definitely a page turner and apt for small journeys lasting 4-5 hours now that the holiday season is nearing.

I would rate the book as 4.5/5


P.S. This book has answered a lot of questions that were hovering in my mind in addition to showing me the right direction and strengthening me to go on in life.

The Krishna Key- A book review

'The Krishna Key' is the third fiction of Ashwin Sanghi. The book has been written after a lot of channelized research on one of the greatest mythological characters- Krishna, the eight incarnation of Lord Vishnu on whose existence there has been a lot of speculations in today's world.

Ashwin has brought out the intricate beauty of the character in the form fiction and has backed it up with facts! I would say the book is articulately written touching upon the past from Mahabharata and weaving it into the present times. The way he goes to the past and makes a transition into the present times is enchanting.

The reader gets a different insight into the Mahabharata.. The view which we wouldn't have thought even existed. The book also brings to light the forgotten glory of our motherland 'India' and also refurbishes the history lessons that we have long since forgotten. It also throws light on India's 'secular' nature in that though the people practice different religions and have different beliefs, the teachings are the same in all religions.

It leaves the reader thirsty to read and understand the Mahabharata with the new dimension that has been given just to tie up the loose ends left by the author (the facts that are not required as part of the plot).

The book dwells into the astronomy and also into latest technologies such as carbon dating, genetic engineering and its relevance to the past and its implications in the future.

The story also touches the intricate beauty of friendship. It revolves around the lives of five people and how an artifact changes their lives. The artifact- a historical seal left behind by Krishna acts as a catalyst to string the chain of events that takes place in the quest of the unknown.The book takes its readers on a journey across parts of north India- be it Dwarka, Jaipur, Himalayas and somnathpura.

Will the unknown be unlocked with the Key or does it reflect on the thought- 'the path is better than the destination'?
